The melabs Serial LCD (SLCD) can display serial data from either asynchronous
RS232-style or synchronous I2C input. A range of baud rates from 2400
to 57,600 are available and the serial data is buffered so that no delay is
necessary when transmitting data to the SLCD.
The display includes an LED backlight with variable brightness. The
serial LCD board is also available separately for use with other displays that
utilize a Hitachi HD44780 or equivalent controller IC.

The melabs Serial LCD Controller (SLCDC) can drive displays that use the
Hitachi HD44780 or equivalent chipset. It accepts serial data from either asynchronous
RS232-style or synchronous I2C input. A range of baud rates from 2400
to 57,600 are available and the serial data is buffered so that no delay is
necessary when transmitting data to the SLCDC.
The Controller offers both dual-row and single-row header patterns for
connecting LCDs of various configurations. Header pins and double sided
tape are included to facilitate mounting. LCD is not included.

The SLED-C4 from Reynolds Electronics provides a
simple asynchronous serial interface to a high contrast, four-digit,
seven-segment, super red LED display module - with 6 unique built-in
animations. The display can be driven with a single pin from
your microcontroller.
Includes an unsoldered, 5 inch long, flat flex cable assembly,
